Police Arraign Hotel Employees For Stealing TV Sets

The police in Lagos has arraigned two employees of Transit Budget Hotel in court for stealing 10 television sets worth over N1m from the facility.

They were arraigned on Thursday at the Ikeja Magistrates’ Court before Magistrate O.A. Layinka.

The employees, Idris Ishagbesan and Daniel Kefas, were charged for conspiracy and theft.

According to the prosecutor, Raji Akeem, the alleged theft took place on August 30.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Magistrate Layinka admitted the defendants to bail in the sum of N200,000 each with two sureties each in like sum.

The magistrate adjourned the case until October 23 for mention.
