Comrade Adeniyi Alimi Sulaiman, National Coordinator, Coalition of Civil and
Human Rights Organizations (COCHRO), has slammed the President
Muhammadu Buhari regime for refusing to honour a court order to
release Omoyele Sowore.

Sulaiman, who was reacting to the re-arraignment of Sowore on fresh
charges before Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu, also urged the judiciary to stay
away from the federal government’s case against Sowore until the
Department of State Services obeyed the bail order granted by Justice
Taiwo Taiwo.

He said, “The alleged plan by the federal government to bring new
charges against Sowore, would amount to an abuse of judicial process
and encouragement of injustice. The judiciary must reject all the
further action of the DSS on Sowore until they (DSS) show respect for
the order of Justice Taiwo of Federal High Court, Abuja.”

Sulaiman also condemned the intimidation of Justice Taiwo for granting
Sowore bail.

Justice Taiwo had last Monday issued a bail order to Sowore following
the expiration of 45 days detention order he gave the DSS.

Since meeting the bail condition on Tuesday, the DSS has refused to
release Sowore, claiming it has an order from above to keep him in
detention.

Sowore is set to appear today before Justice Ojukwu on charges
bordering on treasonable felony, money laundering and cyberstalking
the president.
