COVID-19: Kogi Governor, Yahaya Bello, Makes U-turn, Orders Lockdown Of Kabba-Bunu Council Area After Reported Case

The governor, who gave the order on Monday during a broadcast, said the lockdown was aimed at identifying those, who may have had contacts with the alleged index case.

Following a reported case of COVID-19 in Kogi State, Governor Yahaya Bello has ordered a 14-day lockdown of Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area effective from 12am June 2. 

The governor, who gave the order on Monday during a broadcast, said the lockdown was aimed at identifying those, who may have had contacts with the alleged index case.

He said the state's incident management team would continue to carry out the contact tracing and enforcement of the lockdown order. 

Governor Bello urged security agencies in the state to enforce total compliance with the lockdown order, enjoining residents to adhere to the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control guidelines.
