Gunmen suspected to be bandits have released all students abducted from Government Science Secondary School in Kankara Local Government Area of Katsina State, SaharaReporters has gathered.

Gunmen had last Friday attacked the school, leaving with over 300 students.
Boko Haram had on Tuesday claimed responsibility for the attack which it said was to discourage western education.
But Governor Aminu Masari, on Wednesday, said local bandits were responsible for the kidnap, noting that his administration was discussing with them through the Miyetti Allah.
A source told SaharaReporters on Thursday that all the abducted schoolboys have been released and on their way to Katsina to be received by the governor.

When contacted, Abdu Labaran, Director General of Media to Governor Masari said, "I can't say yes or no, but we have gone beyond discussions with the bandit for now. We are expecting the governor to address a world press conference soon."
