The state’s police public relations officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige confirmed the situation to Daily Post.

According to him, some residents supporting the state government stormed the premises to interrupt the ongoing protest.

There have been allegations that some thugs sponsored by the Kaduna State Government are being mobilised to disrupt the protest organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) on Wednesday.

Hoodlums loyal to the state government had attacked peaceful protesters in Kaduna on Tuesday.

Media practitioner, Stephen Kefas said traditional rulers are being contacted to mobilise thugs with the promise that they will be paid a certain amount.

He said, ”Some politicians in this state, including the governor, are already mobilising thugs that would disrupt the protest in Kaduna today.

“They've called on traditional rulers to help with the mobilisation. One of them was called upon in Barnawa to mobilise 200 thugs for an amount."

On Tuesday, hoodlums reportedly loyal to Governor Nasir El-Rufai disrupted the peaceful protest embarked upon by members of the NLC in the state.

A source said while the protest was going on in Kaduna on Tuesday, some suspected thugs in different vehicles, started stoning the protesters.
