Saturday 3rd of July witnessed a huge gathering of thousands of people who stormed Maduka's rally demanding for a new party adoption ahead of the forth coming governorship election of the state.
One of the former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP's Aspirants in the November 6th Anambra gubernatorial election, Dr. Godwin Maduka has challenged the result of the party's primary election, calling for it's cancellation.

Dr Maduka made the call while speaking to journalists in Awka recently.
The philanthropist who described the PDP primary election result as unacceptable, claimed that the election was done on selection by cabals whose aim is to selfishly appoint a candidate that can dance to their tune.
Dr Maduka claimed that he is the right person to represent the party at the November 6th election, disclosing that his major goals for Anambra state was premised on poverty alleviation, creation of job opportunities for unemployed youths in the state, and giving the Anambra it's pride place on global map through attraction of foreign and local investors to boost economic status and development of the state.

Some members of the party whose views aligned with Dr Maduka's claim, including Mr Ikenna adinuba and Pamela Adindu regretted the choice of the party's leadership in selection of the flag bearer in the election, as according to them, Dr Maduka would have been the best candidate following his philanthropic nature and pedigree.
