Discredited Ex-Minister, Fani-Kayode Under Fire For Praising, Posing For Photos With Terror-linked Pantami

Fani-Kayode was seen posing with the Minister who he now described as a ‘friend and brother’.

A former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode, has come under heavy public criticism for posing with Nigeria’s Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami, a few weeks after labelling him a terrorist.

Fani-Kayode had in a Facebook post on April 22 asked President Muhammadu Buhari to arrest and prosecute Pantami for his extremist views and links to Al-Qaeda and the Taliban.

“He (Pantami) is a religious bigot, an ethnic supremacist, an unrepentant jihadist, a lover of bloodshed, carnage and terror and a psychopathic and clearly insane individual,” he had said.

“Pantami is not fit to be a minister of the Federal Republic, but he is also not fit to walk our streets freely.”

A few weeks later, Fani-Kayode was seen posing with the Minister who he now described as a ‘friend and brother’.

He wrote, “Flew into Kano with my friends and brothers Governor Bello Matawalle of Zamfara state, Governor Babagana Umar Zulum of Borno State, Senator Sani Ahmed Yarima, Senator Ali Ndume, Ambassador Bashir Yuguda, Hon. Minister Isa Pantami, Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and others for the wedding ceremony of President Muhammadu Buhari’s son, Yusuf Buhari, to HRH Nasiru Ado Bayero, the Emir of Bichi’s daughter, Zahra Ado Bayero.”

Some Nigerians, however, described the former Minister as ‘unstable’.

They also described him as a shameless politician.

Below are reactions from some Nigerians on Twitter.
