#EndSARS: Court Adjourns Twice In One Week, Returns Suspects To Remand

SaharaReporters had reported that the case was adjourned till Monday this week but at the resuming hearing of the case on Monday, Justice Abass announced that counsel to one of defendants was indisposed, and he therefore adjourned the case till Wednesday.

Justice Moshood Abass of the Oyo State High Court on Wednesday adjourned the hearing of the case instituted by the federal government against some suspected masterminds of the October 20, 2020, EndSARS protest in Oyo State till Thursday next week for hearing.

SaharaReporters had reported that the case was adjourned till Monday this week but at the resuming hearing of the case on Monday, Justice Abass announced that counsel to one of defendants was indisposed, and he therefore adjourned the case till Wednesday.

On Wednesday (today), SaharaReporters was told that the judge who was conspicuously absent, called his secretary to announce that the case had been adjoined till next week Thursday.

SaharaReporters reports that those charged for the EndSARS protest in Oyo State are; Adesina Ademuyiwa, Ikechukwu Eze, Ariyo Sodiq, Ikennan Amaechi, Oyewole Olumide, Ariyo Afeez, Taoreed Abiodun, Lowoori Ajadi, Sikiru Lukman, Adekunle Maroof, and Rasheed Tiamiyu.

SaharaReporters had also reported that during his previous proceedings, the judge had warned the Nigeria Police Force not to believe that it could only raid some individuals on the streets and bring them before the court as EndSARS protesters.
