A member of the Cross River State House of Assembly, Lady Elizabeth Edem Ironbar is dead.
Ironbar, who represented Akpabuyo constituency, died early on Wednesday after a protracted illness, a family source confirmed to SaharaReporters on Wednesday morning saying, "Yes, she is dead. It happened early today."
True to her name, Ironbar was seen as a tough woman.
She had represented her constituency since 2015 and was said to have refused to defect from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) following the defection of the state governor, Ben Ayade to the latter party.

He passed on in June 2020.
