The N5billion suit to enforce Kanu’s fundamental human rights had been slated for Tuesday.

The suit has eight reliefs which included “A Declaration that the arrest of the Applicant in Kenya by the Respondents or their agents without due process of law is arbitrary, illegal, unlawful, unconstitutional and amounts to infringement of the Applicant’s fundamental rights against arbitrary arrest, to his personal liberty and to fair hearing as enshrined and guaranteed under the pertinent provisions of CFRN and the Charter.”
However, Ejimakor told SaharaReporters on Tuesday morning that the suit had been adjourned to November 19.
“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s human rights suit which was set for today, 2nd November has been adjourned by Abia High Court.
“I’m saddened by this untoward development over a suit that seeks the unconditional RELEASE of Kanu from his ILLEGAL detention,” Ejimakor said.
When SaharaReporters asked him what might have transpired to cause the adjournment, the lawyer disclosed that the hearing was billed for 9am but the Judge, Justice Onuoha A.K Ogwe, was not on seat.
“Hearing was supposed to be at 9am. The judge is not on seat. His name is Justice Onuoha A.K Ogwe. He’s the Chief Judge of Abia State High Court,” Ejimakor added.
