Sources from the area told our correspondent that the heavily armed assailants stormed Negga between 11 pm and12am on Tuesday and opened fire on the community, leading to the death of seven persons.
Negga, a community under Bolki ward, located at the border between Adamawa and Taraba, had suffered a series of attacks in recent past.
Wednesday afternoon, the State House of Assembly strongly condemned the attack and urged the government and security agencies to fish out the perpetrators.
Deputy Speaker and member representing Numan constituency, Pwamwakeno Mackondo, said, "The inhabitants of Negga in my constituency were attacked by armed men as a result of which seven were killed, while seven others sustained injuries.
"The community has a history of attacks by unknown gunmen." He called for the establishment of a military unit in the area to protect the people.
