Local Government Councillor Brutalises Vice-Principal For Correcting Her Daughter Caught Having Sex In Delta School

December 6, 2021

It was learnt that Praise was caught in a classroom with a boy after school hours, allegedly having sex.

A mother has allegedly brutalised the Vice-Principal of Nana Model College in Warri, Delta State for correcting her daughter caught having sex with a boy on the school premises.

SaharaReporters gathered that the mother, who is a councillor in the Warri South Local Government Area of the state, also threatened to sue the Vice-Principal after assaulting her.

A source told SaharaReporters that the councillor's daughter, identified as Praise Moses, is in Senior Secondary School 1.

It was learnt that Praise was caught in a classroom with a boy after school hours, allegedly having sex.

The mother who was invited and briefed on the development allegedly challenged the school's security guard for reporting her daughter.

Mrs Moses was said to have stressed that her husband was a mobile policeman while threatening to get her husband to punish the guard.

The woman was said to have attempted to tear the clothes of the school's Vice-Principal while using her shoe to assault the educationist.

She was said to have been angry that the Vice - Principal allegedly called her daughter 'small rat' after being insulted by the girl.

"The daughter was seen in a classroom with a boy after school, around 4 pm. They locked themselves in the classroom, making love and the gateman saw them and reported the issue to the management.

"The girl gave a false name that could not be traced to any class but was eventually pointed out.

"Her mother was invited and the VP gave the details of what happened. The mother begged and they told her to fix the lock on the door of the class that her daughter had forced open, and she agreed.

"On her way out of the school, she went to the gateman and challenged him for reporting her daughter to the school authority, which generated issues between them. She told the gateman that her husband is a mobile policeman and threatened to use her husband to deal with the gateman.

"The gateman went back to the school management to report the new development, while the woman and the daughter followed him.

"On getting there, the daughter started insulting the Vice Principal. The VP said 'you small rat, you are abusing me'. After that, the woman held on to the clothes of the VP and tried to tear them. She also used her shoe on the Vice Principal."

Confirming the incident on Monday was the Chairman, Nigeria Union of Teachers, Warri South chapter, Comrade Omagbemi Gladys, who told SaharaReporters that the union was aware of the incident and was on top of the matter.

She said, "The police were invited that day and they took the woman to their station. Because the woman is a councillor, she wanted to do one or two things but the station DPO (Divisional Police Officer) immediately charged her to court. The first hearing is scheduled for the 16th of December, 2021.

"The Union also went to Warri South Local Government Chairman to inform him about what happened."

However, SaharaReporters also gathered that it was not the first time that teachers would be harassed in the school.

A source said, "There was a time, I think last year, that a parent came to the school to beat up a teacher just because his child was disciplined. He beat up the male teacher and made sure he tore his trousers and stripped him completely naked before the pupils.

"Also one Kingsley in SS2C has fought more than three teachers in the school. The last one was a chemistry teacher (youth corps member), Segun, and nothing was done about it.

"The point is that the school has now lost its standard because of intimidation from some parents that are connected to politicians or traditional or community leaders.

"Some of the pupils bring android phones to school to watch porn and other immoral videos to distract some others who are willing to learn.

"No one could query the children anymore because of the fear of being intimidated by the corruptible ministry's top officials or some parents connected to them."

"It is horrible to see how education standard is diminishing in Delta," the source added.
