The human rights’ activist stated these on Wednesday during the #NorthIsBleeding protest by the North/South Alliance and TakeItBack Movement in front of the Medical and Health Union Secretariat popularly known as (Ayuba Wabba House) located at Area 1.

Sowore said, “Today, we are here not only because there is terrorism and banditry in the North but mostly because we have an incompetent set of rulers in Nigeria. The person who is the President of Nigeria came on the false promise that he would protect the Nigerian people but today they have scammed us and the entire country.

“We are here today because we have a lot of northern brothers who are attending conference here today and we are here to let them know that their own part of the country is bleeding; that people are dying on an average of 150 people killed between Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara and buried every night.

“Not only the North that is bleeding but the entire Nigeria; and the person that is bleeding Nigeria is President Muhammadu Buhari.”

He called on labour unions and civil society all over the country to join the campaign and stop the carnage in the North and other parts of the country.

“We are here not to fight the labour leaders because they look very angry. We are here to remind them that they have constituency of workers that are not safe in any parts of the Nigeria. The bandits kill whoever ever they want but we don't want everybody to be dead before we act and that is why we are protesting against the most incompetent leader in Nigerian history,” Sowore added.

Meanwhile five protesters and two journalists from Roots TV had been arrested when the rally was about to be terminated at the Area 1 roundabout.

Though the two journalists were later released after spending two hours at the FCT Police Command where they were subjected them to interrogation and forced to preview their video clips.

As of the time of this report, the five protesters were still being held incommunicado.
