Imo Traditional Ruler, Youth Leader Abducted By Gunmen, Found Dead

The monarch alongside the community youth leader were kidnapped on Sunday after his palace and vehicle were razed by some hoodlums.

The traditional ruler of the Ihitte Ihube autonomous community in the Okigwe Local Government Area of Imo State, Paul Ogbu and a youth leader, have been found dead.

The traditional ruler is billed to be buried today (Thursday) as his corpse was conveyed to his kingdom on Wednesday.
The death of the duo was revealed by another traditional ruler, Acho Ndukwe, who was kidnapped alongside Ogbu, but rescued on Monday after combined security operatives raided the criminal den in the Orsu Local Government Area and Uli in the Ihiala LGA of Anambra State.
According to Punch, one of the sources said, “Eze Paul Ogbu and the youth leader have been found dead. Eze Acho Ndukwe revealed that the criminals killed Eze Paul Ogbu in his presence. Security operatives went back to the criminals’ camp with the indigenes and the corpse of the traditional ruler was identified lying in a ditch. He will be buried today which is Thursday.”
Gunmen had on Sunday abducted two traditional rulers in Okigwe, Imo State, and set their palaces ablaze. Other traditional rulers were said to have gone into hiding in the state.
The monarchs kidnapped were Eze Acho Ndukwe of Amagu Ihube and Eze Paul Ogbu of Ihitte Ihube, both in the Okigwe Local Government Area.
A source said the gunmen came in Hilux vehicles, kidnapped the two monarchs and burnt their palaces and vehicles.
