Kogi Police Detain Officers On Duty During Escape Of Suspects From Station

This was made known by the outgoing Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda Dabban, in a statement by the police spokesperson in the state, DSP William.

The Kogi State Police Command has detained the police officers, who were on duty when two suspected criminals escaped on Friday from a police station at Egume in Dekina Local Government Area of the state.

This was made known by the outgoing Kogi State Commissioner of Police, Idrisu Dauda Dabban, in a statement by the police spokesperson in the state, DSP William.

According to him, the two officers were currently undergoing orderly room trial at the police command headquarters in Lokoja, the state capital.

He reiterated the commitment of the command to synergise with other security agencies in its quest to rid the state of crimes.

A suspected kidnapper, who killed his victim and was transferred from Lokoja to a police station in Egume, and an electrical vandal were reported to have escaped from the police cell on New Year’s eve from the station.
