Buhari’s Security Details Harass Journalists, Seize Equipment During Nasarawa Visit

He was covering the presidential commissioning of Kilema-Shinge 5-kilometer road in Lafiya, the state capital.

Journalists were on Thursday manhandled by security details attached to President Muhammadu Buhari, during his two-day working visit to Nasarawa State.
A reporter with the Daily Times, Augustine Kuza had his mobile phone seized by operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS).

He was covering the presidential commissioning of Kilema-Shinge 5-kilometer road in Lafiya, the state capital.
The President is in Nasarawa State on a two-day working visit where he is billed to commission several projects executed by the state and Federal governments.
One of the projects is the 330KV power sub-station in Akuraba, Lafia where the correspondents of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Radio Nigeria and The Voice newspapers were harassed and prevented from gaining entry into the project sites by fierce looking operatives. 
The journalists were chased away and told to leave the area despite wearing accreditation identities on their chests.
Meantime, President Buhari had also commissioned 330/132/33KV sub-station at Akurba community in Lafia.
