Independent monitoring group OVD-Info said police had arrested at least 756 people during demonstrations in 37 Russian cities – with about half of them in the Russian capital, Moscow.

In a Telegram video uploaded on Tuesday morning, Zelensky said, “I am grateful to those Russians who do not stop trying to convey the truth.”

The President hailed the Russians for resisting what he described as disinformation and for deciding to stand on the side of truth and tell real facts to their friends and loved ones.

He pointed to Maria Ovsyannikova, a Russian Television, Russia Channel One employee, who interrupted a major broadcast by holding an anti-war sign in prime time on Monday.

“NO WAR. Stop the war. Do not believe propaganda, they tell you lies here,” the sign read.
