A popular cattle merchant has been reportedly killed by kidnappers, while his wife and two of his sons were abducted in Jalingo, Taraba State.

The gunmen numbering about 12 who forced their way into the house of the merchant, were leading him and his family members to an unknown location when they shot him dead and left his lifeless body behind, a source revealed.
The businessman, Alhaji Gidado Hassan, who was a leading cattle merchant in Jalingo was buried at Jika Da Dari main burial ground at about 9.30am on Thursday.
The spokesperson for the Taraba State Police Command, DSP Usman Abdullahi, confirmed the incident.
