There is apprehension in Yelwa area of Bauchi state after a yet-to-be-identified policeman stabbed two persons to death.

The killing triggered a protest as the youths of the community blocked the road from Elim Church junction to the Yelwa Divisional Police Headquarters.

They pelted policemen inside the Yelwa Police Station with stones.

The police also shot into the air to disperse them. The youths also set vehicle tyres on fire on the road.

This comes a few weeks after a policeman identified as Sergeant Bello shot and killed at least six mobile police officers in Maiduguri, Borno State.

The incident happened inside the police college quarters of the Borno Police headquarters.
