Abducted Nigerian Journalist Freed In Delta

Osahon was kidnapped around 8:00pm on Sunday, March 28, 2022 by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen along Patani area of the East-West Road.

Abducted former chairman of Federated Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Bayelsa State Council, Julius Olusegun Osahon, has been freed from captivity.
Osahon was kidnapped around 8:00pm on Sunday, March 28, 2022 by gunmen suspected to be Fulani herdsmen along Patani area of the East-West Road.

He was released on Friday night.
The kidnappers had earlier demanded a N5million ransom for his release but later increased it to about N50million.
Osahon and about 17 other passengers were travelling in a commercial bus marked Sunny Eru Motors when they were kidnapped by gunmen along the Patani area of the East-West Road. 
The bus driver was shot dead by the attackers in the incident.
