Monkeypox Outbreak Looms As Nigerian Government Confirms 15 Cases In Seven States

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) has disclosed that 15 cases of Monkeypox have been confirmed in seven states between January 1 and April 30, 2022.

This announcement was made after the United Kingdom Health Security Agency declared that a traveller from Nigeria was confirmed to have monkeypox.

According to the NCDC, it was stated that no death casualty has been caused by the disease in 2022.

The health agency promised to conduct active case searches in facilities and communities that have been reporting positive cases in the country.
