Pay Us N323Million Arrears Of Earned Allowances You Owe— Senior Staff Union, SSANU, Urges Plateau University Management As Strike Enters 5th Month

This comes as the strike action by the Union entered its 5th month on Saturday, May 21.

The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) of the Plateau State University has called on the state government to immediately pay its members the N323 million arrears of earned allowances and others the government currently owes its members.

In a brief statement sent to SaharaReporters on Saturday, the Union urged the management of the University to immediately pay up the N30,000 hazard allowance it had promised. 
Also, the union called on the state governor, Simon Lalong, to pay salaries as and when due.
It wrote, ”We call on PLASU management to pay hazard allowance at the agreed rate of N30,000 as cash backed by Government since 2021
”We call on PLASU Management to sign the agreement reached with SSANU in February 2022
”We call on PLASU Management to stop truncating our members on CONTISS 14
”We call on PLASU Management to constitute the Gratuity Board. 
”We call on the Governing Council to address the discriminatory payment of allowances to SSANU members.
”We call on His Excellency Governor Lalong to release our N323,000,000 arrears of earned allowances
”We call on His Excellency Governor Lalong to pay our salaries as and when due.
"Your Excellency Sir, PLASU must not perish under your watch."
