Confusion As Policemen Teargas Delegates At Delta PDP Governorship Primary Election

The accreditation for the primary election started around 8am at the event centre (Doom), Asaba, capital city of the state and it witnessed mammoth crowd of delegates, party officials, aspirants, government officials and supporters.

There is serious chaotic situation at the venue of Delta State Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship primary election as delegates were teargassed by policemen.
The accreditation for the primary election started around 8am at the event centre (Doom), Asaba, capital city of the state and it witnessed mammoth crowd of delegates, party officials, aspirants, government officials and supporters.

SaharaReporters observed that following the crowd of delegates and others who besieged the entrance gate for the venue of the accreditation, the situation became rowdy and uncontrollable for security operatives resulting to the teargassing of the crowd.
It was gathered that after the accreditation, delegates would be transported with vehicles to the Stephen Keshi stadium, Asaba, the venue of the governorship primary election.
As of the time of filing in this report, official and economic activities have been crippled and several public roads barricaded while security have been beefed up at the Stephen Keshi's stadium – the venue of the primaries.
