PDP Governorship Primaries Stalled For Hours As Panel, Aspirants Disagree Over Guidelines In Delta

The conduct of the Delta state Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) governorship primary election stalled for hours following a sharp disagreement between the election panel and agents of governorship aspirants.

The election which was billed to commence after the 9:00 am accreditation of delegates did not start till around 3.30 pm as aspirants' agents and the disagreement went on for hours.

The panel had announced the use of pen to thick the ballot papers against the names of preferred aspirants but the agents and delegates rejected and all parties settled for the use of pad ink.
 
As of press time, the election had just commenced after efforts made by the panel members to bring the situation under control.
