Man Arrives In Mecca For Hajj After Trekking For 3 Years From South Africa

Saheed who made this known in a video obtained by SaharaReporters said he started trekking from South Africa in August 2018 and arrived in Saudi Arabia in July 2022 to perform Hajj.

A South African national, simply identified as Saheed, has arrived in Saudi Arabia after spending three years on the road from South Africa.

He said he stayed in Palestine for one year and eight months due to the closure of the border as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.

"I am here to perform Hajj and after Hajj, I will continue my journey Insha Allah," he said.

He further confirmed that he would be trekking back to South Africa after his stay in Mecca.

Hajj is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, Saudi Arabia, the holiest city for Muslims.

It is a mandatory religious duty for Muslims that must be carried out at least once in their lifetime by all adult Muslims who are physically and financially capable of undertaking the journey, and of supporting their family during their absence from home.
