It's Opportunity To Liberate Youths, Women, Girls – Nollywood Actress, Funke Akindele Speaks On Lagos PDP Deputy Governorship’s Choice

Akindele said she saw it as an opportunity to improve the wellbeing of youths, women and girls.

Nollywood actress and producer of “Jenifa's Diary,” Funke Akindele, has explained why she accepted to be the running mate to the governorship candidate of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Lagos State, Dr. Olajide Adediran, popularly called Jandor.
Akindele said she saw it as an opportunity to improve the wellbeing of youths, women and girls.

She posted this on her verified Instagram handle on Tuesday.
The Ikorodu-born indigene of Lagos, said, “I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the wellbeing of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women and the girl child.
"My decision is not just to accept this huge responsibility but to also work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire to see our dear Lagos live up to its full potential.”
Meanwhile, she excluded her estranged husband’s name, Abdulrasheed Bello, in the video.
SaharaReporters had reported that Akindele emerged as the running mate to the Lagos State opposition PDP.
Akindele was among the candidates listed as possible running mate to Adediran a few days ago but has now emerged as the preferred candidate.
This comes amid the actress’s divorce saga after her husband, a music producer, Abdulrasheed Bello, popularly known as JJC Skillz, recently announced on his Instagram page that their marriage had hit the rocks.
