2023: Tinubu/Shettima’s Muslim-Muslim Ticket Is A Stunt To Distract Nigerians From Failures Of Buhari’s Government–APC Senator

In an interview with Arise TV on Tuesday night, monitored by SaharaReporters, Abbo said the APC produced the stunt of the Muslim-Muslim ticket to prevent Nigerians from asking questions from the present administration about its failures.

The Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District In the National Assembly, Elisha Abbo has said the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress is a distraction from the failures of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

In an interview with Arise TV on Tuesday night, monitored by SaharaReporters, Abbo said the APC produced the stunt of the Muslim-Muslim ticket to prevent Nigerians from asking questions from the present administration about its failures.

“Nigerians should be bothering themselves about good governance and in all honesty, my party could not provide that good governance in the last seven years, I think that’s why they produced this studio stunt to distract Nigerians from asking questions as we head to 2023 general elections,” he said.

The senator also noted that members of the National Assembly cannot defend the N4 trillion budgeted for fuel subsidy in 2022.

He said, “In all sincerity as a member of the National Assembly, I cannot defend N4 trillion for fuel subsidy, fuel that I don’t even see in the filling station yet the government budgeted N4 trillion in the 2022 budget, who are importing this fuel? Where are they selling it? Who are consuming it? I believe it’s a distraction.”

Speaking on why he recently left the Tinubu Support Organisation, Abbo said he cannot be loyal to a government that broke its own constitution.

“You cannot be loyal to a government that broke its own constitution,” he said.

“We have been in the movement; we pushed to the point where he won the primary election, his first act as the candidate of the party is to go against the constitution of the party, how do you command loyalty from people that you threw away?”

Abbo noted that Tinubu did not consult with any member of the APC before picking Kashim Shettima, a former Borno governor as his running mate.

“The truth is that he didn’t consult, there was no consultation. What he did was he bought time, they made up their mind from the beginning that they would produce Shettima as the vice-presidential candidate of the APC, they made up their mind,” he said.

He added Buhari is unbothered about the choice of Tinubu’s running mate because he is tired and eager to leave office and return home.

“Buhari contested for presidency three times, he picked Christians in the south the three times he ran. Buhari never with his massive followers picked a Muslim-Muslim ticket. When this was happening, he said okay that’s what he wants, I leave it to you because Buhari said he’s tired, he wants to go home” He said.

Abbo added that he was still a member of the APC.
