The two Fayose’s close sources reportedly confirmed that this was the second surgery the former governor was having in five months.
He reportedly had the first surgery on his neck in February this year.
According to them, the surgery became necessary due to injuries he sustained when he was attacked during the 2018 Ekiti State governorship election.
Fayose is on overseas’ treatment despite the swelling crisis in the Peoples Democratic Party in Ekiti State where he has been a major actor.
SaharaReporters earlier this month reported that the Ekiti PDP was enmeshed in crisis after a faction clashed with another faction loyal to Fayose.
The anti-Fayose faction had affirmed that the name of the substantive State Chairman of PDP as confirmed by the State Executive Council, was Deji Ogunshakin.
Meanwhile Fayose’s PDP faction in Ekiti State had earlier appointed Alaba Agboola as the substantive Chairman of the party in the state.
Agboola is to replace the party’s governorship candidate in the last election, Hon Bisi Kolawole, who resigned as the state chairman to contest the governorship.
