Kolawole Femi was abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers along Kabba Road, in Kogi State last Wednesday.

The family of a kidnapped 27-year-old man, identified as Kolawole Femi has raised the alarm, begging Nigerians to help secure his release.

Kolawole Femi was reportedly abducted by gunmen suspected to be kidnappers along Kabba Road, in Kogi State last Wednesday.

The victim was on his way to his sister's wedding in Lokoja, the state capital when he was kidnapped by suspected gunmen.

The abductors initially demanded a ransom of N50 million before reducing it to N15 million.

A Twitter user @CodenamesDemola, who posted the video of the mother crying alongside other family members, appealed to Nigerians to help the family.

He noted that the kidnappers have insisted on collecting N15 million otherwise they will kill the victim.

"Wallahi, Nigeria is in shambles. Someone I know was kidnapped somewhere in Kogi State. He was travelling from Lagos for his sister's wedding. He was kidnapped and taken to Akungba. Now, the kidnappers are asking for 50 million with a 5-day ultimatum

"Today is the 5th day!

"I appeal to well meaning Nigerians to help us. The kidnappers contacted us not too long ago that they've reduced the fee to 15 million. Please, anything you do will go a long way even if it's a RT.

"We're still receiving donations. Any amount is welcome. Femi is still alive as at when the kidnappers made contact this morning.

"This is a race against time. Please!" He wrote.

However, one of the family members who spoke with SaharaReporters said there was no update beyond what was posted on Twitter.

"Nothing so far. Ultimatum of 5 days has elapsed and they're insisting on 15 million otherwise they'll return his dead body," the family member said.
