Many terrorists were injured after an attack by a notorious North-west Nigerian banditry kingpin, Muhammad Bello, aka Bello Turji and his gang on another bandit group in Zamfara State.

The clash between the two terror groups took place last Friday.

According to sources, Turji Bello, 28, gathered his fighters and launched an unexpected attack on the camps of a rival gang located between Kaura Namoda and Maradun forest.

Sheep and cattle belonging to the rival terror group were also stolen.

Turji Bello is allegedly responsible for numerous massacres and terrorist attacks against civilians and security forces in the North-West region, especially Zamfara and Sokoto states.

In September 2021, Yan Sakai operatives attacked a mosque in Gwadabawa, killing eleven people.

Turji allegedly responded by leading his bandits towards a market in Gonroyo, Sokoto State. The bandits entered the bazaar and opened fire, killing about 60 civilians.

In December 2021, Turji's forces attacked a bus in Sabon Birni, setting it on fire and burning the passengers inside to death. About 30 people were said to have died in the ambush.

From January 4 to 6, 2022, over 200 people were allegedly killed by terrorists led by Turji in Zamfara State, Nigeria.

Shortly before the attacks, terrorists led a raid on a group of 3,000 cattle only to be confronted by local vigilantes, leading to a gunfight and battle between the two parties.

The outnumbered vigilantes lost and many of them were slain by bandits, and the killings of villagers began.

Beginning around 12:45 PM, on Tuesday, 4 January, gunmen on motorcycles whose numbers have been estimated as stretching from 300 to 500 entered the town of Kurfar Danya, marking the start of a series of attacks on villages in the Anka and Bukkuyum local government areas of Zamfara.

The terrorists shot villagers as they looted and burnt their homes to the ground. For two days, armed bandits laid siege to the towns of Kurfa and Rafin-Gero without any intervention by the government.

Five different settlements were destroyed by the terrorists.
