The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi, Ghana's second-largest university, has elected Prof (Mrs) Atinuke Olusola Adebanji as its Vice Chancellor.

With a PhD in statistics and an MPH (Reproductive and Public Health), Atinuke Adebanji is a proactive lecturer and researcher in statistics and public health.

She has over 17 years of experience in theoretical and applied statistics, epidemiology, and biostatistics.

Multivariate data analysis, categorical data analysis, and development statistics are some of her areas of research interest.

Throughout her career, she has mentored and taught undergraduate and graduate students both inside and outside of Ghana.

The new VC has also played a key role in the organization; Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (WoSTEM).
