Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar, has met with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State, and four other governors in London, the United Kingdom.

Atiku met with the five governors on Thursday evening.

The meeting is coming barely 24 hours after the All Progressive Congress (APC), Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, met with Wike and others in London.

Among those who attended the meeting with Atiku were; Governors Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia) and Ahmadu Fintri (Adamawa).

SaharaReporters earlier today reported that former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, met with Wike and Peter Obi, the Labour Party's presidential candidate.

It was earlier reported that there were growing concerns within the PDP before today's summit in London that the conflict between Atiku and Wike may hurt the party's chances in the 2023 presidential elections.

The party leaders, in separate interviews on Wednesday, expressed concern about the growing relationship between Wike and influential members of the All Progressives Congress, describing the development as worrisome.

The meeting between Wike and two other PDP governors and Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the APC presidential candidate, on Monday in London raised concerns from the party's top leaders in particular.

The PDP's elders are concerned that Wike's actions as well as those of the governors of the states of Oyo and Benue, Seyi Makinde and Samuel Ortom, may hurt the party's chances of winning the 2023 presidential election.

It was learnt that discussions among the PDP hierarchy on Wednesday were dominated by the Wike and Tinubu’s meeting on Tuesday in the UK.

At the party's Wadata Plaza headquarters in Wuse, Abuja, on Wednesday, the National Working Committee of the party met with PDP governorship candidates from all 36 states of the country.

Except for the governor of Oyo State, who is currently abroad, all the PDP governorship candidates were present at the meeting.
