Nigerian Lawyers’ Association, NBA Swears In Maikyau As New President

During the swearing-in event at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Maikyau thanked God for getting him thus far.

Following the expiration of Olumide Akpata's leadership, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, Mr Yakubu Maikyau, has been sworn in as the new President of the Nigerian Bar Association, NBA, on Friday.

With 38,000 electoral votes, Maikyau won the earlier in July election and was sworn in as the 31st President of the NBA.

During the swearing-in event at the Eko Hotel & Suites, Maikyau thanked God for getting him thus far.

He also expressed gratitude to his colleagues at YC Maikyau & Co, his campaign staff, and friends and partners who helped him win the election.

The outgoing Akpata administration was praised by the new President for the enormous advancements the NBA saw during the previous two years.

He pledged to continue and expand upon the admirable accomplishments and initiatives of the Akpata administration.

He extended a hand of fellowship to all those who contested the office of the NBA President with him, saying he and his team would be coming to tap from their indepth knowledge from time to time.

“I saw all your great manifestos and your laudable proposals for the NBA. What has happened is that we are now the ones who have been given the responsibility. I invite you all to join hands with us as we build the Nigerian Bar Association to the great heights we all desire,” he said.
