Tension In Kwara Community As Gunmen Kidnap Bus Passengers

A source close to Raji's family told SaharaReporters that the gunmen attacked the bus at Ganmo Area, Ilorin, Kwara and abducted Raji and other passengers on board.

A man identified as Raji Gbenga Taofeeq, and no fewer than 10 other bus passengers were kidnapped by gunmen on Sunday night in Kwara State.

 

A source close to Raji's family told SaharaReporters that the gunmen attacked the bus at Ganmo Area, Ilorin, Kwara and abducted Raji and other passengers on board.

 

"Since last night that we received the information, we have been trying to reach him or the kidnappers, but they haven't contacted us," the source told SaharaReporters.

 

A message sent to Kwara State Police Command PPRO, Ajayi Okansanmi seeking his reaction and more clarification on the security issue was not replied to at press time.

 

In August, SaharaReporters reported that there was tension in Ganmo community, Kwara State, after some unidentified gunmen attacked 16 HOUR hotel and killed the owner, identified as Kayode Akinyemi.

 

It was also learnt that after killing Akinyemi, aged 47, the attackers shot the hotel manager, Emmanuel Olushila Ojo and abducted one of his friends before leaving.

 

Ojo was said to be receiving treatment at the general hospital in Ilorin after being critically injured.

 

The abducted friend of the hotel owner was simply identified as Ori.
