UPDATE: Nigerian Police Rescue Two Of ‘32 Kidnapped Burial Guests’ In Ondo

According to Fumilayo Odunlami, the spokesperson for the police command in Ondo, they were rescued following the deployment of security operatives into the forest within the axis of Ose and Owo local government areas of the state.

Two out of the 32 persons who were kidnapped over the weekend along Benin-Akure highway in Ondo State have been rescued.

The abduction took place on Saturday around Ifon area.

The victims were said to be returning to Akure, after attending the burial ceremony but were stopped by the hoodlums along the Benin-Ifon Road.

 

It was gathered that the kidnappers ordered all the occupants out of the vehicles and marched them to an unknown place in the forest. It was however learnt that some of the abductees managed to escape from the gunmen.

 

Some of the occupants however escaped while being taken to the kidnappers’ den but many of the victims are still with the kidnappers.
