Sowore stated this on Monday as he was welcomed by thousands of his supporters and loyalists in Lagos.

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress, Omoyele Sowore has urged Nigerians not to vote for ailing candidates who will use the country's resources to treat themselves.

Sowore stated this on Monday as he was welcomed by thousands of his supporters and loyalists in Lagos.

The human rights activist is in Lagos to attend the 13th Gani Fawehinmi Memorial Lecture in Ikeja.

Fawehinmi was a Nigerian author, publisher, philanthropist, social critic, a human rights lawyer, and politician who died on September 5, 2009.

The AAC presidential candidate said, "We [Nigerians] are tired of all these leaders who use Aso Rock for hospitals.”

He described this as a major cause of the country's underdevelopment.

He continued: "I am in my familiar territory, I am back to Lagos after three years to commence the total takeover of Nigeria from the nonchalant leaders that have been running Nigeria for the last 52 years, particularly those who have been in charge in the last 23 years.

“From Lagos to Kano, from Maiduguri to Port Harcourt, we are back to tack it back. We are back to take our country back. Lagos of course is the wave of every Nigerian.

"There is no family that is not represented in Lagos and that is why I decided to come to Lagos today and we are saying Revolution Now.

“I heard that there is a man contesting against me in Lagos. And his name is Emilokan. But we are saying in our time 'Awalokan'. It is people's time. It is time for the poor. It is time for the oppressed.

"I want to announce that today is Gani's Fawehinmi's 38th death anniversary. We came specially to honour him. We are returning to the hall for discussions because of our great leader, Chief Gani Fawehinmi.

"I just took a walk from the airport to show that Nigeria needs a solid, healthy and fit President.”

“We are tired of all these leaders who use Aso Rock for hospitals," he added.
