Ice Prince’s lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida, confirmed the rapper’s bail on Friday afternoon.
Nigerian rapper Panshak Zamani, popularly known as Ice Prince, has been released on bail.
The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State command, had arraigned the singer before a Magistrate Court sitting in Ajah, Lagos State, on three-count charge bordering on assault, obstructing a policeman from carrying out his statutory duties, and abduction.
The court had granted him bail in the sum of N500,000 and asked him to provide two sureties.
The court also ordered his remand at the Ikoyi correctional facility until he met the bail conditions and adjourned the assault trial till October 24, 2022.
At the last sitting on Wednesday, the Oleku crooner had yet to perfect his bail conditions, leading to speculations that he might remain at the Medium Correctional Centre Kirikiri till the next adjourned date.
Speaking with Premium Times, Ice Prince’s lawyer, Folarin Dalmeida, confirmed the rapper’s bail on Friday afternoon.
Dalmeida said his client was released from the Nigerian Correctional Centre in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Thursday.
“His bail conditions have already been met, and he was released yesterday (Thursday),” he said.
SaharaReporters had reported that Zamani was arrested by the Lagos Police Command on September 2, for allegedly assaulting one of its officers.
Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesperson, had said the musician assaulted and threatened to throw the undisclosed officer into the river.
Ice Prince rose to fame after releasing “Oleku”, one of Nigeria’s most remixed songs.
He won the 2009 Hennessy Artistry Club Tour.
