The number two man in the council was reportedly alone in his car as of the time he was kidnapped and whisked away to an unknown location.

There have been continuous debit alerts from the bank accounts of the Vice-Chairman of Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta State, Frank Ozue, who was kidnapped by yet-to-be-identified gunmen.

The council vice chairman, SaharaReporters had reported, was abducted late hours of Sunday on his street where he was said to be returning from an outing believed to be a night clubbing at Ughelli, headquarters of Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.

The number two man in the council was reportedly alone in his car as of the time he was kidnapped and whisked away to an unknown location.

SaharaReporters gathered that several withdrawals had been made with his ATM card by his abductors.

"On that fateful Sunday at late hours, he was returning home from his usual night outing where he was kidnapped by the unknown gunmen in his street and taken away to unknown destination. His phones were left in his car when he was kidnapped. His ATM card is with him and the kidnappers have made several withdrawals from his bank accounts.

“Though we are suspecting that his kidnap has a political undertone; there are two rival political groups in Isoko North, the equity group and the unity group headed by two factions of the Peoples Democratic Party.

"Frank belongs to the equity group and there has been this political rivalry between the two PDP groups in the local government before the councils polls in 2020. The unity group produced the council chairman and wanted to produce the vice chairman when the equity group stood their ground and produced Frank, the council chairman.

“Since then there has been a serious political rivalry between the two groups. His kidnap could be coming from the unity group so as to have him replaced at the end of the day. There's this very dirty and crude politics they play in Isoko North." a close source familiar with the rivalry in the local government revealed.

It was also gathered that his abductors knew that his political godfather and Managing Director, (MD) of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission, (DESOPADEC), Askia Ogieh, was capable of coughing up millions of naira as ransom for his release.

As of the time of filing in this report, a family member who does not want to be mentioned confirmed that no contact had been established between the victim's family and his abductors as all efforts are in top gear to rescue him unhurt.
