Nigerian Anti-Corruption Agency, EFCC Arrests Two Proprietors Of Internet Fraud Coaching School, Seven Students In Edo

It said the suspects were arrested by its operatives at Benin Zonal Command on Tuesday.

Nigeria's anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), says it has arrested two owners of Internet fraud schools; Internet Fraud Coaching Centre (a.k.a HK) alongside seven suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, the Edo State Capital.

It said the suspects were arrested by its operatives at Benin Zonal Command on Tuesday.

EFCC in a statement issued through its Head Media and Publicity Wilson Uwujaren, which SaharaReporters obtained on Thursday, gave the names of the proprietors of the alleged 'yahoo school, as Osagie Ogiemwonyi and Onukwugho Favour.

According to the statement, the seven others arrested were their students and they were apprehended in their centres following what it described as actionable intelligence worked upon by the Commission.

Uwujaren gave the names of the seven students as "Destiny Ohikwugbe, Chata Okoro, Ighodaro Omede, Ehigie Idemudia, Lawrence Daniel, Raymond Ogiemwonyi Oghosa and Henry Philip.

"Items recovered from the suspects include a Mercedes Benz GLK, Lexus 350, phones and laptops."

He said that the commission will charge them to court as soon as possible.
