The #RevolutionNow convener in a tweet also said the government is directly or indirectly hiring armed robbers by paying security personnel as low as N50,000 monthly as salary.

The presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, has described Nigeria’s N30,000 minimum wage for civil servants across the nation as a crime against humanity.

The #RevolutionNow convener in a tweet also said the government is directly or indirectly hiring armed robbers by paying security personnel as low as N50,000 monthly as salary.

“N30,000 minimum wage is a crime against humanity. Anybody paying a person in possession of AK-47 a salary of N50,000 has just hired an armed robber,” Sowore tweeted.

The presidential aspirant is known for standing for human rights and kicking against their violations by the government or its agencies.

In 2020, Sowore was at the forefront of the #EndSARS protest during which Nigerian youths made several demands from the Nigerian government including the disbandment of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) and increment of salaries of Nigeria Police personnel.

He has maintained that one of the major problems with Nigerian security is the underpayment of security agents in the country.
