They said it would amount to a waste of money and time, contesting the 2023 election to the Senate seat to represent the zone, adding that his 20 years of representation of the area in public office had proved as an acid test to his innate debility.

The kinsmen of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State, under the aegis of Nsukka Collectives have asked the governor to forget his Senatorial ambition because they will not vote for him to continue the “20 years of wasted representation in 2023.”
They said it would amount to a waste of money and time, contesting the 2023 election to the Senate seat to represent the zone, adding that his 20 years of representation of the area in public office had proved as an acid test to his innate debility.
The group said Ugwuanyi did not leave legacies of good leadership throughout his tenure as governor but instead deployed deceit, exploitation and poor political judgement to keep government afloat.
They added that he exhibited timidity as well as hatred for the zone he seeks to represent in the provision of amenities.
The National President of Nsukka Collectives, George Nnamdi Asogwa, said these in an interview with SaharaReporters.
He said "In the last 19 years as a member of House of Representatives for Igbo-Eze North/ Udenu Federal Constituency and now seven and a half years as governor Ugwuanyi has left our people more divided than united.
"Governor Ugwuanyi did not empower Nsukka people, rather he caused divisions among brothers, sisters and their relations. Ugwuanyi under-developed Nsukka Local Government, he under-developed Igboeze North, Igbo Eze South and Igbo Etiti, Uzo- Uwani, except his Orba area in Udenu Local Government.
"Ugwuanyi left uncompleted road projects in every part of his own senatorial district. All the earth roads he did with World Bank loans have all washed away leaving most communities with harrowing chain gallops. When Chimaroke Nnamani was governor in Enugu, he developed every part of Nkanu. He did so in his first four years but consolidated in his second term.
“Ugwuanyi should tell the people of Enugu North the legacy projects he is leaving behind.
"For Ugwuanyi to destroy the peace engendered by ex-Governor Sullivan Chime, who handed over to him and try to return Enugu State to another era of terror, murder and assassinations through his attempt to foist the the Ebeano murderous group is despicable and shameful and no Nsukka man or woman should vote for him.
"We specifically appeal to the Church to play its role well in Enugu State by educating their followers to do the needful by voting against the Ebano murderous group now threatening resurgence through the imposition of Peter Mbah on the peaceful Wawa people of Enugu State.
"Wawa means no and our people must say never again to Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi and his cohorts", he stated.
The Nsukka Collectives chieftain said it was a thing of great shame and a cause for alarm watching Ugwuanyi's foot soldiers lining up villagers across the zone to collect N1000 to bribe them to support the PDP even when campaigns have not officially commenced.
"Why open bribery by an incumbent? Can't their record of service speak for them? But no, the tricksters must invent more tricks to sustain their business of deception", he stated.
