As Student Activists, Senators Like Tinubu Didn't Get The Kind Of Regard We Got—AAC Presidential Candidate, Sowore

Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress for the 2023 election.

Omoyele Sowore, presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) says he has no connection with President Muhammadu Buhari and former Lagos State Governor Bola Tinubu as some people have rumoured.

Tinubu is the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress for the 2023 election.

According to Sowore, he met the former governor once in his life and that was in 1999 when he was canvassing for votes alongside his ally, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro.

The activist added he has never met with Buhari.

“In all my life, it was once that I met Tinubu physically when he just came back from exile. He and Obanikoro were campaigning around Ikeja,” Sowore said while speaking with Alaroye.

“I was with the late Dr (Frederick) Fasehun of the OPC, he told me that was Tinubu. Tinubu was wearing sandals; I thought 'is this the person they call Tinubu?' Dr Fasehun now introduced us as student activists. That was the only time I saw Tinubu in my life. I have never met Buhari in my life.

“When I was still a students’ leader, we used to go to events organised by human rights activists. While we sat on the high table, senators like Tinubu could not sit on the high table. After giving our speech, we would leave. They could not talk where we were talking at the time.”
