Terrorists have attacked some communities in the Birnin Gwari local government area of Kaduna State, killing three persons during the assault.

According to witnesses, the victims were farmers who were at work on their crops on Saturday when the bandits attacked.

Although the police and other security agencies have not yet confirmed the attack, Ishaq Kasai, the chairman of the Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union, said that the bandits kidnapped 22 individuals and stole motorcycles.

He claimed that on September 24, about 7pm, bandits broke into the Hayin Gada of Damari Community in Kazage Ward, where they killed two residents and abducted 12 others.

During the incident, they also ransacked stores in the same neighbourhood.

Another group of terrorists assaulted a farm centre along the Birnin-Gwari-Kaduna road that same day; they killed one person and later abducted six more.

They also kidnapped four others at Dajin JANGALI and seized three motorcycles from farmers at Kamfanin Doka area.

Meanwhile, the Birnin-Gwari Emirate Progressives Union has observed with serious concern the way terrorists continued to invade various communities and looting goods at shops unchallenged.

The union however called on relevant authorities to intensify effort towards combating terrorist activities in Birnin-Gwari LGA especially at this early crop harvesting period.
