According to the party, the jobs will be created through the provision of grants, single-digit loans, training and other support services to the informal sector.

The African Action Congress (AAC) in Lagos has promised to create 500,000 jobs in the informal sector in the state.

According to the party, the jobs will be created through the provision of grants, single-digit loans, training and other support services to the informal sector.

This is contained in a statement jointly signed by the governorship and deputy governorship candidates of the party, Hon. Akeem Olayiwola and Dr Benneth Eze, and made available to SaharaReporters on Sunday.

It said, "We will support the coconut value chain towards the creation of jobs. We will create three ICT Parks at Alimosho, Ikorodu and Ibeju Lekki, which will create jobs for Lagos youths.

Lagos is the darling of traders, but the market system is terrible. We will stop the tyranny of the (Bola) Tinubu-imposed Iyalojas. We will encourage democratisation in our markets. We will eliminate multi-taxations that have turned traders into people who sweat without enjoying their labour.

"We will also make sure there is a creche per market which will provide for the children of the traders. We will also return the markets to the real traders instead of the expensive stalls that are owned by cabals.

"We will work with organisations of Informal workers to build the informal economy to be very viable and pro-masses. We will revamp, advance, and renew the Night Market economy from Agege to Obalende. We will create abundance that would make Lagos the greatest economy in Africa."
