The group lamented that the Imo politician could do anything in his bid to pull down Mr. Peter Obi to satisfy his principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The Ohanaeze Youths Council (OYC) has berated former Imo State governor and former Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha, over his alleged determination to betray Ndigbo in the forthcoming 2023 general elections.
OYC said that Ndigbo would forgive him only if he would make a u-turn and return home to build his own land.
A statement by the group's national President, Igboayaka O Igboayaka, which was made available to SaharaReporters, regretted why the former Imo Governor could choose to become a political betrayer.
The group lamented that the Imo politician could do anything in his bid to pull down Mr. Peter Obi to satisfy his principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.
The statement partly read, "Emeka Ihedioha has chosen the road of slavery than path of freedom in order to succeed in pulling down Peter Obi; it is a task he must carry out, to satisfy his master, the man he washes his pant in Sokoto. Ihedioha should earnestly quit from washing the pant of his political cronies in Sokoto and relocate back home to be part of 'Take Back Nigeria Project' led by Mr. Peter Obi.
"To this effect, therefore, the gift we must collectively give Emeka Ihedioha in Imo State is to make him politically redundant and orphan. So a person who sabotages Ndigbo must have learnt a historical lesson, and such lesson must be to send him to politically oblivion even if he had rigged the PDP's primary election and become their flag bearer in 2023/2024 Imo Guber," the statement read.
The council, however, warned the PDP that giving the former deputy Speaker governorship ticket for Imo State for 2024 governorship election would amount to the party's automatic failure, querying while he was even declared the winner of 2019 Imo election in the first place.
The group alleged that Ihedioha had never won any election in Imo State from House of Representatives to governor but had rigged both in primary and general elections to secure all the positions he held.
"It's truism that the 2019 Imo Guber election was not in any way won by Emeka Ihedioha; he rigged in the three local governments in Mbaise. If he says otherwise, we challenge him to produce the ballot papers of his vote from Ahiazu, Aboh, and Ezinihite Mbaise to see if it will correspond with the figures they presented to INEC.
"Within the constitutional framework, Emeka Ihedioha did not merit INEC's initial pronouncement as the winner of 2019 Imo election. His purported winning was a function of both ballot rigging and financial inducement (he paid to have his way).Therefore, such has no moral justification to challenge Hope Uzodinma's Supreme Court ruling. Unfortunately, we live in political system where kettle accuses pot of black colour.”
