Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress has scolded the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, for celebrating the conferment of Dallas honourary citizenship on him.
It was earlier reported that Peter Obi was conferred with honourary citizenship during his meeting with the Mayor of Dallas as well as a select group of Texas Judges.
Taking to his social media, the LP flag bearer shared some pictures of the occasion with the caption, “Today in Dallas Texas United States, I met with the Mayor of Dallas and his team. I had the privilege of being conferred with the honorary citizenship of Dallas. I also met with a select group of Texas Judges.”
Reacting, Sowore said the way Obi celebrated the conferment further reaffirmed that his ideology was not different from People Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.
The AAC flag-bearer and human rights activist added that the honourary citizenship did not deserve the euphoria Obi attached to it, noting that Obi had been scammed.
On his Twitter page, Sowore said, “No wonder @PeterObi clearly stated he’s got no ideology different from @atiku and the rest, for him to be celebrating the conferment of “honorary citizenship” of Dallas shows he’s got no clue that the award is not even worth the paper it was printed upon. Someone scammed him!”
