This was contained in the court judgement delivered on the suit filed by Engr. Dada Oduntan, where he urged the court to rule that Aderinokun was not the winner of the election. The election took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on May 23.

A Federal High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Thursday dismissed a suit challenging the primary election that produced Hon. Olumide Aderinokun as the Peoples Democratic Party 's senatorial candidate for the Ogun Central Senatorial District.

This was contained in the court judgement delivered on the suit filed by Engr. Dada Oduntan, where he urged the court to rule that Aderinokun was not the winner of the election. The election took place at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library on May 23.

Oduntan also urged the court to declare him the winner of the primary election.

The presiding judge of Court 1 in the FHC, Hon. Justice O.O. Oguntoyinbo, ruled that the court will not entertain the case because it is incompetent and defective because it was not initiated in line with the due process of law.

Aderinokun’s lawyer, Stanley Imhanruor Esq, while speaking on the implications of the judgement on his client's candidature, noted that the suit commenced by the Plaintiff has been given a decent judicial funeral.

He said his client's candidature as the PDP senatorial candidate for Ogun Central District was as solid as the rock of Gibraltar.

It was reported that during the primary election, Aderinokun gulped 214 votes from the 216 accredited delegates drawn from Abeokuta South, Abeokuta North, Obafemi Owode, Ifo, Ewekoro and Odeda Local Government Areas.

The election, which was conducted by the PDP national electoral delegation, was monitored by the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC).
