2023 Elections: Inuwa, APC Governorship Primaries Runner-up In President Buhari's Home State, Katsina, Dumps Ruling Party For PDP

SaharaReporters learnt that Inuwa, who was the runner-up during the May 26 APC governorship primary election in Katsina, on Sunday announced his defection to the PDP after a meeting with his supporters.

The immediate past Secretary to the Katsina State Government (SSG), Mustapha Inuwa, has dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

 

SaharaReporters learnt that Inuwa, who was the runner-up during the May 26 APC governorship primary election in Katsina, on Sunday announced his defection to the PDP after a meeting with his supporters.

 

He explained that before he dumped the APC, he had discussions with the APC presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.

 

He said, "We spent over 40 minutes on the telephone even though he (Tinubu) had called for us to meet but I couldn't make it.

 

“Many people, including past and serving ministers, governors among others also called me on the same issue and I told them I have no problem with anyone."

 

Inuwa who came second during the APC governorship primary, losing the tucket to Umar Dikko Radda, directed that his campaign structure should be collapsed into that of the PDP.
