The presidential order was signed on Tuesday.

President Muhammadu Buhari has signed Executive Order 12 which seeks to improve performance management among others.

The presidential order was signed on Tuesday, according to Buhari.

In a tweet on Tuesday, Buhari said, “Today I signed Presidential Executive Order 12, on Improving Performance Management, Coordination & Implementation of Presidential Priorities of the Federal Government of Nigeria. Our goal is to institutionalize a culture of accountability & transparency in our service delivery.”

In June, Buhari signed an Executive Order to establish the National Early Warning Centre pursuant to Article 58 of the Treaty of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and Article 16 of the Protocol on the Mechanism related to Conflict Prevention, Management, Resolution, Peacekeeping and Security.

A statement issued by the office of Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo in June said under the ECOWAS instruments, including the 1993 Revised ECOWAS Treaty, each member state is to establish a national early warning centre to address issues related to threats to human security.

It described it as part of the regional body’s peace and security architecture.

Similarly, in April, Buhari signed Executive Order 11 to ensure the maintenance of federal public buildings across the country.

During the event, Buhari said the order will reinforce the national public building maintenance policy which was approved in 2019.

“On the 4th day of January, 2019, the federal ministry of works and housing presented a policy memorandum to the federal executive council seeking for the approval of a draft National Public Building Maintenance Policy which was granted,” he said.
