SaharaReporters had reported that Aloy Ejimakor, a special counsel for Nnamdi Kanu on Monday urged the international community to pressure President Muhammdu Buhari to the continued detention of the separatist leader.

Scores of members of the Indigenous People of Biafra based in Liverpool and London have staged a one-million protest march in the United Kingdom to demand the immediate release of their leader, Nnamdi Kanu who the Muhammadu Buhari government is detaining despite a subsisting Appeal Court order, acquitting him.

SaharaReporters had reported that Aloy Ejimakor, a special counsel for Nnamdi Kanu on Monday urged the international community to pressure President Muhammdu Buhari to the continued detention of the separatist leader.

Kanu had been re-arraigned before a Federal High Court on amended 15 counts bordering on treasonable felony preferred against him by the Nigerian government.

However, on April 8, Justice Binta Nyako struck out eight of the 15 counts.

Kanu through his team of lawyers led by Mike Ozekhome (SAN), filed an appeal marked CA/ABJ/CR/625/2022, praying the court to quash the remaining seven counts for being devoid of merit.

Despite the court ruling on October 13 granting Kanu’s release, the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, said Kanu would not be released due to some upcoming charges.

Hence, the United K-based IPOB members commenced a solidarity protest on Monday against the defiance of the court order granting Kanu’s release by the Nigerian Government.

A member of IPOB, Mazi Chukwunonso disclosed on Twitter that IPOB families came out in their large numbers to stage a protest towards the actualisation of Biafran Republic.

“Here are #IPOB families protesting in London, England 🇬🇧 with "Chief IMO" one of our finest musicians and Actor in southeast #BiafraLand. #BiafraReferendum #biafragenocide67,” he wrote.

Another user, John-Ezeakolam also said, “#IPOB London, England One Million Man March kick-off.”

“IPOB Day Two (2) Protest Live In Anfield, Liverpool 17/10/2022 For Immediate Release Of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu,” Oluchi Christy added.
